Disclaimer: wrenching experience: 0.001
My battery needed replacing, so I bought a new one. I didn't get around to replacing the old one until an hour ago, 4 pm local time. A simple task, right? Right. However, the springs of my hood are worn so I constantly needed one arm to keep the hood open. Because of the LPG conversion there's another item in the battery case making it a tight fit. I didn't have proper tools (only a wrench) and the sun was going down. The different battery design resulted in the battery brace not properly fitting. No light meant I had to stop trying.
Result: improperly fitted battery.
Lesson learned. Always prepare before wrenching.

I'd like to nominate a Jalopnik specialty tool:
Old 2x4s, not cut to any particular length, can be used for many specialty jobs, such as holding up a hood, banging on something, throwing when something doesn't go well, and can also be used as an emergency BFH.
2x4: The Jalopnik specialty tool. Soon coming to a dumpster near you. Only 3 easy payments of $0.00.

As an apartment dweller I'm not familiar with this piece of novel technological advancement. Where can I purchase one of these fine specimens?
Like I mentioned, I prepared nothing, which was stupid.

Eh, that's how it goes. I never bother really securing my car batteries well except on the autocross car. I tend to swap out for slightly different than intended batteries (like the Optimas).
A little loose is just fine.

We all have been there. Congratulations on LP conversion.
